Honoring Our Past. Creating Hope for the Future: DC's Observance of National Crime Victims' Rights Week

  • Arnold & Porter 601 Massachusetts Avenue Northwest Washington, DC, 20001 United States (map)

In commemoration of National Crime Victims' Rights Week, April 7-13, 2019, Network for Victim Recovery of DC (NVRDC) invites you to the kick-off event for a pop-up exhibit featuring Honoring Our Past, Creating Hope for the Future: An Interactive Timeline, a community-created installation for the public, advocates, and survivors. This year's NCVRW theme – Honoring Our Past. Creating Hope for the Future. – celebrates the progress made by those before us as we look to a future of crime victim services that is even more inclusive, accessible, and trauma-informed.

Part art, part history, and part letters of hope for the future, this event will unveil a community exhibit to celebrate milestones in DC's crime victims' rights, honor community and individual losses and trauma, and allows partners and participants to discuss innovative approaches for survivor-defined justice that are being piloted or could be explored in the coming year.
