The Amara Legal Center provides free legal services to survivors of sex trafficking and to sex workers in the District of Columbia. As part of providing those services, Amara is holding a free, virtual Name Change Clinic for trafficking survivors and sex workers who wish to have their name changed in the District of Columbia.

On May 17, 2023, attorneys will provide consultations by video or phone. Attorneys will interview individuals and provide brief advice about the name change process in DC. Please sign up here. Spots for the clinic are limited. Individuals who do not meet Amara's eligibility criteria (involvement in commercial sex) will receive referrals to other organizations.
