The DC Coalition to End Sexual Violence leads a range of outreach initiatives to support survivors, raise awareness, and strengthen community responses to sexual violence. Our efforts include the ASK DC platform, providing local leadership on national campaigns like Sexual Assault Awareness Month and Campus Safety Awareness Month, our quarterly newsletters, the Nameless documentary on child sex trafficking, and robust digital engagement to promote prevention and advocacy.
Outreach and
Awareness

ASK DC is the first user-friendly tech platform designed to connect survivors of sexual violence with comprehensive, easily accessible support. It brings together medical, legal, mental health, law enforcement, advocacy, campus-based, and prevention services in one confidential and free tool.
Updated in 2025, ASK DC now offers filters that streamline the search process, helping users quickly connect with the most relevant services, alongside resources in nine languages, a new accessibility menu to help all users navigate the site, and more.

We publish quarterly newsletters that spotlight the work of coalition members, share resources, and highlight programs, training, and policies shaped by community needs. The newsletters reflect our commitment to strengthening the network of care and advocacy across DC and beyond.

Nameless is a documentary about child sex trafficking in Washington, DC and at-large. Produced by MCSR in partnership with our Coalition, the film explores the trafficking of children for commercial sexual exploitation as an often invisible form of gender-based violence. Every April, communities across DC join advocates worldwide in recognizing Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM). SAAM raises awareness about the impacts of sexual assault, supports survivors and allies, and strengthens prevention efforts. To encourage local participation, we provide an annual SAAM Action Guide with ready-made posts, community-specific data, and compelling visuals that help spark conversation and deepen community engagement. Every September, colleges and universities nationwide observe National Campus Safety Awareness Month (CSAM) to highlight the importance of safety on campus and promote violence prevention efforts. During CSAM, we partner with local campuses to promote prevention, response, and advocacy services that address sexual violence and build cultures of consent and accountability.
